Forum Administrator Recruitment

We are seeking to appoint a Forum Administrator to ensure the
efficient administration of all elements of Gloucestershire Parent Carer
Forum’s business. The Forum supports parent carers to participate in the
development of services for disabled children and their families and to be the
voice of parent carers in Gloucestershire. In addition to administration tasks
you will attend social meets to welcome Parent Carers and take feedback so some
travel in the county is expected (at present all meetings take place online and
all office based tasks are currently completed through home working).  This role has been planned to allow for some
flexibility in working patterns to ensure it is accessible to Parent Carers and
we welcome applications from those with lived experience of parenting a
disabled child.  Candidates should note
an early September start date is required but hours can be phased in over 4-6
weeks if necessary.

Hours: 12 hours per week (with potential flexibility around
school hours and school holidays if preferred)

Salary: £10.20 per hour (£19,890 Pro Rata)

The post holder will be an employee of our host Active
Impact.  The initial contract is from 1st
September 2020 – 31st August 2021 (extension may be possible subject funding)

Once you have signed up you will get a second important invitation in which we will ask you to anonymously complete a data form that helps us know more about our members but protects your privacy.  Please help us by completing both forms.

The forum is run by a group of volunteers, all of whom are Parent Carers themselves with the support of our Forum Coordinator who is funded for part time, term time only hours to give assistance to the committee. There are lots of ways you can be involved with the forum that can offer you opportunities to meet other parent carers whilst helping us become a stronger voice for families of disabled children in Gloucestershire.

SOCIAL HOSTS – Would you like to bring parent carers together in your area? Why not help us set up a regular social meet and listening event? You can do this as an individual or a small group.

REPRESENTATIVES – Receive free training to develop your advocacy skills and receive a voluntary remuneration for attending meetings to give the views of Parent Carers.

COMMITTEE MEMBERS – Help with the strategic management of the Forum, we meet every 6-8 weeks for coffee/lunch and plan the forum’s work for the coming months
